G-Changers Indonesia takeaway

In partnership with F5 Networks and Kaspersky CIO Academy Asia (CIOAA) held its G-Changers Forum series on the topic: ‘Tech Trends and Enterprise Priorities’, at Pullman Jakarta Indonesia on 27 August 2019. Practitioners from across industries shared their views with more than 40 participants on game-changing innovations and technologies that are radically transforming government, business and societal landscapes.

Programme highlights included sharing of the key findings from CIOAA’s Tech Trends and Priorities ASEAN Survey which offers insights into the latest trends which will have a big impact on businesses and tech leaders in Indonesia and the region for the next 1-2 years.

In the study, four areas were singled out as digital leadership competencies to drive Digital Transformation (DT): Innovation and design, agility, data analytics and cyber-resilience. It was also revealed that Analytics & AI as well as Connected Clouds will have the biggest impact on their business for the next two years. Cybersecurity & Risk Management continues to be a critical area of focus for all respondents, they expect to see more implementation activities and greater investments in it through 2019-2020. The survey results also show that the most urgent challenges include changing internal processes and workflows, capacity/resources for capability development and organisational ICT infrastructure.

Through lively and interactive panel discussions, leaders from esteemed organisations such as Kalbe Farma, Polaris Consulting, IBS Insurance Broking Service, The Jakarta Post Digital, Asuransi Ciputra Indonesia, and TNT Skypak International (FedEx Express), among others, offered insights into the new leadership competencies, digital transformation and cybersecurity best practices as well as digital strategies needed to stay competitive.

Through keynotes and panel discussions, industry leaders articulated on ways to fostering an innovation culture and driving agility, in the face of dealing with legacy system challenges.

Digital transformation strategy and design practice firm, PebbleRoad, also shed some light on a framework that can inspire leaders to reinvent their organisations for the future with scale and sustainability at the product-level and the organisational-level.

Global leading innovation platform catalyst and builder, Plug and Play, featured a curated list of leading startups from Indonesia that shared their disruptive technologies and innovations that may be able to plug the technology needs of corporates and government agencies in Indonesia.

The Forum was extremely informative from start to finish, with many participants sharing that they took away some great tips and valuable insights from the sessions and interactions.
