CIO Academy Asia is happy to have partnered with ANZ and Telstra to conduct an insightful awareness workshop on blockchain, held on 16th Novemebr 2016 at the newly launched ANZ BlueSpace Innovation Studio.

Business leaders from across various industries gained insights from our panel of experts on the myriad of innovative applications of blockchain beyond the financial services sector. Many believe that this easy to use distributed ledger technology is going to be the next huge thing after the internet, the cloud and big data. It may have the potential to replace existing payment service providers and transform the way transactions are processed.

Nigel Dobson
General Manager, Group Payments Management, ANZ
Nigel Dobson oversees digital strategy and transformation across all of ANZ’s wholesale customer segments. Nigel also has responsibility for delivering wholesale lending transformation for the institutional bank as well as overseeing enterprise payments transformation and payments strategy across the group. Nigel leads the banks Blockchain strategy and associated activities, including fostering partnerships and industry pilots. Nigel is currently a Director of the New Payments Platform (NPPA) in Australia and a Director of the Australian Payments Council (APC). Prior to this role, Nigel spent 4 years in senior Transaction Banking roles at ANZ, including Global Head of Payments and Cash Management and Global Head of Transaction Banking Products.

Matthew Lempriere
Global Head of Financial Services Market Segment, Telstra
Matthew Lempriere is Global Head of Financial Services Market Segment based in Hong Kong, where he is responsible for identifying and leveraging opportunities for the company within the sector across Asia Pacific, EMEA and the US. Matthew joined Telstra in August 2013, bringing with him over 20 years of experience in the financial and telecommunications industries. He has in-depth specialist knowledge in the delivery of electronic trading and information applications in the banking and finance industry. Prior to joining Telstra, Matthew was Head of BT Radianz for Asia Pacific.

Zelda Anthony
Head of Blockchain, ASEAN, Cross-industry, IBM
Zelda Anthony is IBM’s Head of Blockchain, ASEAN, based in Singapore. She is responsible for developing IBM’s blockchain business in the ASEAN region; understanding the key blockchain trends, opportunities and challenges and how they are impacting IBM’s customers and partners in key industries. The role includes developing IBM’s go to market strategy for blockchain, building an ecosystem with partners and building IBM’s brand in the ASEAN region. Before the Blockchain leadership role, Zelda was Head of Payments for APAC, Financial Services Industry. Prior to IBM, Zelda spent 7 years at SWIFT where she held several roles including, Head of Compliance products APAC, Head of ASEAN, Head of New Customers APAC and Head of Oceania.
