Unprecedented events in the past year have illustrated how governments need to be ready to lead in addressing urgent and at times competing priorities on multiple fronts simultaneously. The challenges in coordinating activities and managing the evolving crises have highlighted the importance of data, trust, transparency and communication. For citizens and organisations, governments also have a role in establishing foundations for continuity of necessary services e.g. trusted public communication channels, resumption of education in schools, access to digital resources and help for the under-served and economically-impacted.
