Desmond Lee is a seasoned technology executive with over 20 years of experience in the banking industry across Asia and global markets. He previously held various leadership roles at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC), including CIO, Head of IT, Information and Cybersecurity, and Joint General Manager, Head of IT Steering Group. His expertise spans IT transformation, digital transformation, infrastructure service delivery, and information security, with a focus on front-to-back office operations across markets/trading, corporate, transaction banking, and wealth management. Prior to SMBC, Desmond spent nearly a decade at RBS, where he held several senior positions, including Head of APAC Infrastructure Services and Deputy Head of APAC IT Infrastructure. Desmond holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Economics and Management Information System from The University of Western Australia. He is proficient in Mandarin and English.
