As of 1 September 2022, David Chin will assume the role of CEO of CIO Academy Asia (CIOAA). P. Ramakrishna (Rama), will transition from his Chief Executive position to assume the role of Senior Advisor.

During his tenure as the CEO, Rama was responsible for several key flagship programmes as well as spearheading the company’s strong brand and community growth initiatives. CIOAA would like to express their deep appreciation to Rama for his valuable leadership contributions especially when the overall business was badly disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic crisis. Rama was assisted by Deputy CEO, David Chin, who previously served as the company’s Head of Relations, since joining the company during its inception.

Covid-19 presented severe challenges to CIOAA’s community engagements, especially with our community members across Southeast Asia, when travel restrictions and in-person activities were curtailed. Under the joint leadership of Rama and David, CIOAA remained resilient and continued to strive despite ongoing post-pandemic uncertainties. CIOAA is primed to invest and deepen its knowledge sharing programmes with the community of tech leaders.

David has played an integral role to the overall growth of CIOAA since its inception. David has led business development activities with CIOAA’s growing network of tech partners and spearheaded new initiatives such as CIOAA’s Thought Leadership forums, Expert Workshops and Masterclasses. David is also responsible for CIOAA’s overseas expansion, building strategic relationships with tech, business and government leaders in Singapore and across Southeast Asia.

David will steer the company’s transformation to become Asia’s leading platform for practitioner-driven peer knowledge exchange among tech and business leaders. CIOAA will extend its knowledge platforms beyond community programmes, into executive education, executive coaching and advisory services. Organisations can look forward to tapping on CIOAA’s ever growing community of tech experts for a variety of needs, from strategic transformation planning to skills upgrading.
